By this day i think my core motivation for programming have always been that it's akin to magic. Not that it's all hard and magical (it is, at times it god damn is), but it's as close to that fictional concept as you can get in this reality. As you can probably tell, i really enjoy all the fiction where the protagonist was a coder of some sort and now has to create his overpowered enterprise-level magic. And, though i could see how this comparison might seem a bit childish and immature in nature, drawing such parallels is still deeply fascinating for me. I certainly don't see myself going off that road any time soon - sometimes you gotta keep the most silly thing if it drives you. That being said, i wanna share a small mind experiment here. Let's say you are a mage. Just go with me, imagine that. So you are a mage and since you can now do magic, create spells and such, i'd like to ask you a question. Trade secret kind of question. But please, it really bothers me, i'd love to know the answer. What linter do you use? )
